Things to do around Britannia Spice

Monday, September 27th, 2010

For this blog – we’re going to tell you all about the excitement and goings on around our Indian Restaurant.

Our location by the popular Water of Leith means that all around us some of the best and most exciting things in the city are going on.

With a combination of some of Edinburgh’s most luxurious flats going up nearby and the nearby Holiday Inn we have a great range of regular locals who know that we are worth a visit.

For those of you who are wondering (apart from our curry perfection) what makes it worth travelling to see the sea – there are some other great sites that are worth a day out and a lazy meal with us on your way home.

Firstly – and most famously is our namesake – The Royal Yacht Britannia. The Queen’s former yacht is a fascinating piece of recent history and is well worth a visit whether you’re a tourist or a city dweller.

The other place to visit nearby is Ocean Terminal. Although it is often dismissed as just a shopping centre, the unique mix of shops, places to eat, skateboard and BMX centre, children’s soft play area, cinema and more make it a full day experience for the family.

So, whether you are just popping in to see a film in the evening – or just wanting to relax after a full on day’s shopping come along to Britannia Spice for the best Curry in Edinburgh.

Performing at the Royal Botanic Garden, the Children of the Sea’s show grew out of a project for Sri Lankan teenagers who were affected by the 2004 Boxing Day tsunami.

The Britannia Spice chefs prepared a special three-course buffet which included unique dishes from Sri Lanka. Diners enjoyed an exuberant performance blending the strong rhythms of the Sri Lankan music with the grace and elegance of the young dancers. (more…)
