Best in Scotland
Britannia Spice was named the best curry restaurant in Scotland at a ceremony in London on 25 September - and one of the top 10 in the UK. The 2005 British Curry Awards, which are a benchmark for excellence within the British curry industry, is further recognition for Dr Wali Uddin and his crew at the stylish Leith eatery. Customer feedback is a crucial element of the judging process of these awards, which are organised by the Guild of Bangladeshi Restaurateurs.
Dr Uddin, the chairman and chief executive of Britannia Spice, said: "We work hard to ensure our customers feel like royalty the moment they step into the restaurant and we are proud to serve them food fit for a monarch."
